African wildlife and landscapes don’t get any better than Tanzania, a nation that boasts three of the continent’s legendary landmarks: the Serengeti Plains, Mt Kilimanjaro and Ngorongoro Crater.
Serengeti is renowned for its Great Migration — the annual passage of millions of wildebeest, zebra and antelope from north to south across the plains (and then back again) chasing the rains and the fresh green grass the follows. One of the Mother Nature’s most incredible spectacles.
Perpetually snowcapped Kilimanjaro rises 19,341 feet above the surrounding plains. A dormant volcano with an almost mythological place in pop culture history thanks to writers like Ernest Hemingway. The trek to the summit takes five days round trip, but the view is literally breathtaking (thanks to the high altitude).
Ngorongoro has always been one of the best places in Africa to get up close and personal with wildlife, especially its resident lions. And just outside the crater is Olduvai Gorge, the place where Mary and Louis Leakey discovered some of mankind’s earliestforerunners.
